During a China GT Championship race at the Shanghai International Circuit, a multi-car collision resulted in a Ferrari driven by British racer Ollie Millroy catching fire. While China GT organizers apologized, they maintained that the event met “national-level configurations.” However, Millroy’s team, AAI Motorsports, accused organizers of being “grossly negligent in the safety response” and announced its withdrawal from the series. Additionally, actor and racer Daniel Wu criticized the organizers for a delayed response and an alleged attempt to cover up mismanagement.
