In late September 2026, the Beijing CBD Forum hosted a roundtable dialogue for diplomatic envoys from 19 countries and various international organizations. The event focused on ‘Advancing Higher-Level Opening Up, Sharing New Opportunities for Development,’ featuring a research report on how China’s expansion of high-standard opening-up could provide global development opportunities. Following this, on October 17, 2026, the China Outbound Investment Forum was held in Beijing. Hosted by the Center for China and Globalization, the forum shifted focus toward globalization policy, international investment, and the overseas operations of Chinese companies. Discussions also covered the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and China-Europe cooperation. On October 20, 2026, the 2026 Annual Conference of the Financial Street Forum opened in Beijing. The conference, themed ‘Building an Open Collaborative and Inclusive Ecosystem for Global Financial Development,’ gathered over 400 international guests. Zeng Linfeng, acting district mayor of Beijing’s Xicheng District, noted the theme addresses ‘accelerating century-scale changes and challenges facing the global economy and financial activities.’ The four-day event includes specialized meetings on fintech, insurance, and investment, with sessions hosted by the People's Bank of China, the National Financial Regulatory Administration, and the China Securities Regulatory Commission. Participants from global institutions, such as Standard Chartered and DWS Group, are scheduled to discuss cross-border financial development and long-term investment opportunities in China’s capital markets.
