China's multilateral strategic diplomacy

Chinese Premier Li Qiang has engaged in a series of high-level diplomatic meetings to strengthen China's strategic partnerships across multiple regions.

During the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Li met with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref to discuss Middle East peace and stability. Li advocated for resolving disputes through diplomatic channels, while Aref expressed a commitment to increasing coordination within the SCO and BRICS frameworks. Li also met with Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin to consolidate bilateral strategic cooperation.

In Saint Petersburg, Li met with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to discuss the deepening China-Russia strategic partnership. Mishustin noted that bilateral coordination has reached a “historical peak” following the 25th anniversary of their Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation. The discussions also focused on enhancing legal cooperation through the integration of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, and big data, to support economic and humanitarian ties.
