The transition to electric vehicles in Brazil and Latin America has accelerated significantly through late 2026. This follows the creation of the Department of Electromobility within the MME. Additionally, Uber has expanded its ‘Electric’ service—offering rides exclusively in 100% electric vehicles—to 11 additional Brazilian cities, bringing the total to 15 municipalities. Total investments from manufacturers like BYD, Stellantis, and Volkswagen are estimated at R$130 billion through 2030.
