American singer Chris Brown entered guilty pleas to the charge of an affray charge for a the February 2023 violent confrontation at the private Tape club nightclub in Mayfair on 19 February 2023. He was accused of striking Mayfair. Prosecutors said Brown struck music producer Abraham Diaw twice on the head with a tequila bottle and of punching glass bottle, while his co‑defendant Omololu Akinlolu (Hoody Baby) punched and kicking kicked the victim, who victim as he lay on the floor. Diaw required hospital treatment. Brown’s vocal‑coach treatment at St Mary’s Hospital for head and co‑defendant, Omololu Akinlolu (known as Hoody Baby), pleaded guilty to knee injuries. The plea reduced the same charge. Prosecutors withdrew more serious offences, original accusations of grievous bodily harm, assault and Brown was released possession of an offensive weapon to affray, carrying a maximum three‑year sentence. Both defendants remain free on bail after posting a £5 million security fee. bail package, allowing Brown to continue his R&B tour with Usher across the United States and Europe. The court has scheduled a sentencing hearing for 26 October 2026. After the plea hearing, Brown traveled to the United States and performed in Nashville, appearing unfazed by Prosecutor Claire Campbell described the proceedings.
