Chubb Limited financial performance and investment

Chubb Limited has experienced significant shifts in both institutional investment and financial reporting during 2026.

In the third quarter, Farther Finance Advisors LLC increased its stake in the company by 70.4%, bringing its holdings to 38,455 shares. Other institutional investors, including South Plains Financial Inc. and Baker Tilly Wealth Management LLC, also grew their positions. Collectively, institutional investors hold 83.81% of the company’s stock.

Financially, Chubb reported record property and casualty (P&C) underwriting income of $5.79 billion for the first nine months of 2026, a 33.7% year-on-year increase. Net income for the same nine-month period rose to $8.02 billion.

However, third-quarter specific data showed a 1.5% growth in net income to $2.84 billion, while P&C underwriting income for that quarter fell 8.8% to $2.06 billion. This decline was linked to $705 million in pre-tax net catastrophe losses. CEO Evan G. Greenberg noted that while most underwriting businesses grew, the company has taken actions to reduce exposure in certain segments due to competitive pressures and inadequate pricing.
