Chubut road safety and transport regulation initiatives

Overview

The Chubut provincial government has implemented several measures to enhance road safety and regulatory compliance within the province.

Initial efforts focused on preventive controls through the ‘Mi Viaje Seguro’ (My Safe Trip) program. This initiative, managed by the Chubut Provincial Road Safety Agency (APSV), involves coordinating with educational, sporting, and recreational institutions to ensure safety before transporting large groups. Recent operations in Rawson and Playa Unión included breathalyzer tests on passenger transport drivers during the transport of children and adolescents.

Subsequent actions expanded to include educational programs in the Comarca Andina region. The Ministry of Government and the Undersecretariat of Land Autotransport organized training sessions in El Hoyo for regional transporters and municipal traffic agents. These sessions aimed to promote the regularization of cargo and passenger transport by focusing on legislation, legal circulation requirements, and the unification of control procedures among municipal agents and transport personnel.
