Television producer Chuck Lorre has faced backlash following remarks in his new memoir, ‘Sitcom’. In the book, Lorre addressed his professional relationships with actresses Anna Faris and Jenna Elfman. Lorre suggested his initial hesitation to cast Faris in the sitcom ‘Mom’ was justified, implying her departure after the seventh season validated his doubts. He specifically characterized her 2020 exit as occurring for “mysterious reasons that were not mysterious to anyone on the show.” He also compared her to Charlie Sheen regarding the anxiety she allegedly caused on set. Additionally, he claimed a potential collaboration with Jenna Elfman collapsed because she refused to work with him after he left Scientology, noting he was labeled a ‘suppressive person’. Anna Faris responded to these comments on Instagram, stating, ‘Yikes. Yes, I read a few things. I really didn’t see that coming. Of course it hurts.’ While expressing pride in their collaborative work and gratitude for her seven seasons on the series, Faris shared that she has been sober for a year and a half and is currently ‘happier than I’ve been in a long time.’ Co-star Jaime Pressly ~~also weighed in on the controversy, defending~~ defended the ~~production by~~ production, describing the group as ‘an incredible cast of ~~women’ and emphasizing~~ women’.
