Chungnam Province is pursuing various legislative and economic initiatives to support local industries and sustainability. The Chungnam Provincial Council has moved to advance green building measures, including proposed amendments to mandate zero-energy certifications for public buildings and provide support for private sector green remodeling. Simultaneously, the province is focusing on international market expansion. An export consultation meeting held in Frankfurt, Germany, facilitated approximately 110 consultations totaling $17.38 million in export discussions for local companies. Following the event, Governor Park Su-hyeon met with representatives from local companies' European subsidiaries to address operational challenges such as rising costs and increased regulation, pledging support through programs like youth internships and logistics assistance. To further regional development, the province has initiated efforts to secure increased government funding through political consultation. During a meeting budget policy council with the Democratic Party of Korea, Governor Park Su-hyeon requested a total government budget of 13.5 trillion KRW for the upcoming year. While the current proposal reflects a 7.6% increase to 13.2632 trillion KRW, the province identified a deficit of 236.8 billion KRW required to meet its targets. Proposed Governor Park presented 10 key projects for requiring additional parliamentary budget increases to reach this target. These include the Chungnam AX (AI Transformation) project, the establishment of the National Institute for Historical and Cultural Heritage, Zone Promotion Agency, and the creation of a national cemetery in the region. Other priorities involve infrastructure and innovation, such as connecting the Seohae Line with the Gyeongbu KTX line, expanding the Daesan–Dangjin–Sejong–Anseong expressway, and developing the K-Heritage Valley.
