The Cinehill Film Festival opened on 21 July 2026 in the mountain village of Fužine, Croatia, offering a six‑day program of over 100 films screened outdoors in forest settings. The opening highlighted a special “50 years” award for Bosnian‑Herzegovinian actor Zijah Sokolović, accompanied by a retrospective of his work. During who said the festival, 18 honor gave him “a new dimension to the meaning of life.” Eighteen titles competed in the main programme. The top prize, the Propeller award, was given to the Mexican drama Muhe by director Fernando Eimbcke, Eimbke for his film Moscas (Muhe), praised for its blend of simplicity, boldness and humanity. The international jury included Palestinian producer Baher Agbarija, Serbian producer Snežana van Houwelingen, Serbian director Marija Perović and Croatian director Igor Šeregi. Additional honors included a special recognition for Milivoje Obradović’s 15 i po, were presented: the CroCorto Crocorto prize for went to Croatian short Držim te, director Ane Predan, the Corto short‑film award for to Swiss film L’avant‑poste 21, director Camille Surdezza, and the FIPRESCI critics’ award for to Chilean drama Otapanje. director Manuele Martelli. The event attracted a larger audience than the previous edition despite cold weather and featured an international jury with producers from Palestine, Serbia and Croatia.
