Central American nations are ~~preparing delegations for~~ competing in the 2026 Codicader Secondary Level ~~Central American~~ Student ~~Games, scheduled to be held~~ Games in Tegucigalpa, ~~Honduras.~~ Honduras, which runs from September 4 to 13. The tournament features student-athletes from seven countries across 20 sporting disciplines. El Salvador ~~has~~ dispatched a 502-member delegation, including 342 student-athletes ~~competing in 20 different sporting disciplines such as athletics, basketball, soccer,~~ (164 women and ~~swimming.~~ 178 men). As of September 8, the host nation, Honduras, has secured 54 medals (11 gold, 16 silver, and 27 bronze), placing them fourth in the general standings. Taekwondo has been a notable discipline for both the host and Panama. Honduras saw gold from Ashley Castellanos and silver from Cedric Guzmán, while Panama earned two gold medals from Natalia Pérez Barragán and Daniela Samudio, one silver from Misael Montero Pérez, and eleven bronze medals.
