Collegiate weekly athletic conference honors

Collegiate athletic conferences have begun continued announcing weekly player awards for the start of the 2026 season. In volleyball, honors were distributed across several conferences. The Pac-12 recognized Oregon State University’s AC Froehlich the Big 12 named Rachel Van Gorp as Offensive Defensive Player of the Week and Jackie Matias Ava Martin as Setter of the Week. In the West Coast Conference, the University of Portland’s Kala Chock was named Freshman inaugural Setter of the Week. The Big East honored Ayden Ames, Luanna Markus, and Carola Tesoro. Other volleyball conference honors were issued by included Maya Bukvcan and Remy Catojo in the Big 12, Big East, Big South, Emma Converse and Hady Pickard in the America East, and Jadyn Petersen as the Missouri Valley Conference. Additional weekly awards were announced Conference Libero of the Week. Recent accolades also include SEC honors for Kentucky’s Molly Tuozzo, who was named Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week. Her teammates Kassie O’Brien and Brooklyn DeLeye were named Setter of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week, respectively. Additionally, Louisville’s Chloe Meester was named the AVCA National Collegiate Player of the Week and ACC Offensive Player of the Week, while Nayelis Cabello was named ACC co-Setter of the Week. In men’s soccer in soccer, Giacomo Zizza of Louisville was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week, and Longwood University’s Brando Bedolla received Big South, as well as field South Offensive Player of the Week honors. Field hockey in honors were also noted for Villanova’s Gemma Lysaght, who was named the BIG EAST. EAST Offensive Player of the Week.
