Colombian authorities have conducted large-scale operations to seize assets and goods linked to criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking, contraband, and money laundering. In late August, the Fiscalía General de la Nación seized 44 assets valued at over 22,118 million pesos from the ‘Los del Dorado’ criminal group, which allegedly managed a cocaine production chain in Antioquia for export to the United States and Central America. By mid-September, operations expanded to target smuggling and money laundering networks. President Abelardo De La Espriella announced the seizure of 10,000 million pesos worth of smuggled goods, including footwear, perfumes, and appliances. Concurrently, the Fiscalía occupied 45 properties valued at approximately 184,615 million pesos linked to an investigation into the company Lili Pink. This case involves allegations of criminal conspiracy and the use of shell companies to evade customs controls. Attorney Walter Francisco Martínez Martínez is currently imprisoned in connection with this case. In late September, the scope of the investigation into fashion brands expanded. Authorities seized 38 properties in Bogotá and Cundinamarca, valued at over 379 billion pesos, linked to both Koaj and Lili Pink. Coordinated by the National Army, the Attorney General's Office, and the Special Assets Society (SAE), the operation targets a suspected transnational criminal organization that allegedly used front companies to legalize illicit goods. Officials noted that while commercial premises in areas such as Unicentro and Toberín are affected, the legal measures target asset ownership and do not imply the total disappearance of the brands. On September 21, updates regarding the seizure of the 38 properties noted that Permoda, the owner of Koaj, has stated it is not a subject of the investigation and occupies the premises solely as a tenant.
