The Colombian government has initiated several large-scale investment programs targeting rural and regional development. The Rural Development Agency (ADR) allocated over 207 billion pesos to support rural women through productive projects, commercialization, and technical assistance to address gender gaps in agriculture. In the Antioquia department, the National Planning Department identified 48 projects valued at approximately 57.6 trillion pesos, focusing on security, social development, and connectivity. Meanwhile, in Julián Buitrago, director of the National Planning Department, noted that project execution will depend on co-financing between the national government, the Antioquia governorship, local municipalities, and the private sector, with the potential to generate 1.6 million jobs. In Risaralda, a 2027 budget proposal of 8.16 billion pesos was presented to promote commerce, industry, tourism, and science and technology, including efforts for economic reactivation following an earthquake in August. This proposal represents an approximate 2% increase over 2026 resources. Additionally, the National Land Agency (ANT) announced an investment of 15 billion pesos for the Arauca department. Director General Lina María Garrido Martín stated that 13 billion pesos are earmarked for peasant associations, while 2 billion pesos will support community initiatives, including those from indigenous and Black communities. The agency is also addressing land formalization and investigating alleged irregularities in land acquisition and contracting from the previous administration.
