Various cultural events were held across Turkey to commemorate the 14th anniversary of the death of folk music master Neşet Ertaş. In Keçiören, Ankara, Çeşme, a program organized by special concert was held at the Keçiören Çakabey Culture Center on September 25, led by Çeşme Municipality and Turkish Folk Music Choir conductor Osman Uysal. The performance featured works by the Kırşehirliler Platform artist known as ‘Bozkırın Tezenesi’ and included musical performances a call for social solidarity to provide a motorized wheelchair for a physically disabled individual, Emirhan Aydınelli. In Ankara, the Ankara State Turkish Folk Music Choir performed the ‘Eşik’ concert at the CSO Ada Ankara Historical Hall as part of traditional bozlak pieces the Turkey Culture Road Festival. The program aimed to represent the capital’s cultural heritage by blending traditional folk melodies with Seymen and Bacıeren traditions. Other commemorations included programs in Keçiören, Ankara, featuring the Abdallar Ensemble Ensemble, and other artists. In Kocaeli, a ‘Neşet Ertaş Commemoration and City Awards’ ceremony in Kocaeli. The Kocaeli event, organized by the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and the Kocaeli Central Anatolia Provincial Associations Platform hosted a program titled ‘Neşet Ertaş Commemoration and City Awards’, which Platform, honored Ertaş’s musical contributions legacy and presented awards to regional contributors in arts, education, and business. Additionally, as part of the Ankara Culture Route Festival, the ‘Opera in Anatolia’ project blended traditional Anatolian folk songs with opera techniques, featuring a rendition of Ertaş’s song ‘Neredesin Sen’.
