The Communist Party of Vietnam has undertaken several initiatives regarding membership rules and the recognition of long-serving members. General Secretary and President Tô Lâm emphasized the necessity of innovating leadership methods and enhancing theoretical research to ensure policy remains aligned with reality. Administrative updates were issued by the Secretariat regarding admission conditions for individuals over the age of 60. Concurrently, in celebration of Vietnam’s National Day, the Party has conducted large-scale ceremonies to award Party Badges to veterans. These awards recognize members with between 30 and 95 years of service. In Hanoi, over 20,000 members received badges, including 160 individuals with at least 70 years of service. Similar ceremonies were held in provinces such as Hải Phòng, Đà Nẵng, and Lâm Đồng. In Gia Lai, Politburo member Nguyễn Thanh Nghị presented 80-year badges to Phan Ngọc Bích and Huỳnh Thị Cạnh. In Cần Thơ, Phạm Duy Khương, a revolutionary active since 1945, was recognized for 80 years of service. In Ho Chi Minh City, National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn presented badges ranging from 60 to 80 years to veterans. Recent celebrations for the 81st National Day expanded these honors. In Phu Tho Province, the Provincial Party Committee awarded or posthumously awarded badges to 14,654 members with 30 to 70 years of service. In Ha Tinh Province, 104-year-old Dang Tung was honored with an 80-year Party Badge for his service since 1945. In Đức Quang commune, Hà Tĩnh province, Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Gia Túc presented an 80-year Party Badge to Hoàng Thị Tứ, who joined the party in 1948, alongside several 65-year badges. Officials noted that these awards recognize the “lifelong dedication, loyalty, and contributions” of members to the nation’s revolutionary cause and serve to inspire younger generations.
