Community and social initiatives in Italy and San Marino

Various community-focused initiatives are being implemented across Italy and San Marino, ranging from religious programs to social infrastructure developments.

In Italy, religious organizations are conducting spiritual and pastoral programs. In Sacrofano, the ‘Lieviti di Comunità’ program provides a structured path for youth ministry through phases of activation, planning, and discernment. In Chiaravalle Centrale, Archbishop Claudio Maniago led a Franciscan Jubilee for parish Caritas organizations, featuring a pilgrimage and celebrations centered on Franciscan spirituality.

Other regional efforts focus on social spaces and housing models. In San Giorgio su Legnano, the ‘Casa delle Associazioni’ was inaugurated at the restored Palazzo Gerli to serve as a hub for volunteer groups, sports, and cultural activities. Meanwhile, in San Marino, discussions are being held regarding ‘Co-housing: a new housing model for San Marino’ to address intergenerational living and the needs of the elderly, supported by research emphasizing the importance of accessible and sustainable housing for independent living.
