The compact SUV market continues to see intense competition, particularly between the Kia Seltos and the Toyota Corolla Cross. The Seltos remains a key player in the crowded C-segment, offering modern design and hybrid options. Beyond the compact segment, the broader SUV market is expanding into electric and diverse family categories. Kia has introduced the EV9, a large seven-seat electric SUV with high-speed charging capabilities, and is also targeting the entry-level market with the EV2. In Germany, the EV2 is being offered through “highly competitive leasing deals” to compete with low-cost Chinese manufacturers. Other notable developments include the Mazda CX-6e, an electric luxury SUV priced at approximately 50,000 Euro with a 484-kilometer range, and the Dacia Jogger, which serves as an affordable seven-seat alternative utilizing LPG or hybrid engines. Competition in the European electric compact sector is intensifying as Geely introduces the E2 in Germany. An export version of the Xingyuan model, the E2 starts at 19,990 euros, aiming to undercut European models like the Renault R5 and VW ID. Polo by several thousand euros. The E2 offers two battery variants: the E2 Pro with a 35-kWh battery (up to 252 km range) and the E2 Max with a 47-kWh battery (up to 345 km range). While providing significant interior space and a 70-liter front trunk, the model is limited by a top speed of 130 km/h and DC fast charging speeds capped at 60 or 80 kW.
