CONMEBOL has implemented structural changes to its major football competitions. The Copa América will now follow a quadrennial tournament cycle, with the next edition scheduled for 2028 to align with other major continental championships. The first phase will transition from single-match knockout rounds to home-and-away series for clubs from the same country, excluding Argentina and Brazil. The 2027 calendar, scheduling the Copa Libertadores Sudamericana is scheduled to begin its first phase in February and the Copa first week of March, with the final set for November 20, 2027. Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, has been designated as the host city for the Sudamericana final, with the match intended to take place at the Ramón Tahuichi Aguilera stadium, provided local authorities meet all continental requirements. The 2027 Copa Libertadores will begin in March, its first phase on February 3, with finals for both tournaments set the grand final scheduled for November 27, 2027. Additionally, the 2027 Recopa Sudamericana will feature a two-legged tie, with matches scheduled for February 17 and February 24.
