Continental has expanded the availability of its CrossContact A/T2 all-terrain tyre beyond Australia, launching the product line in Nepal and the Philippines. Designed for SUVs, 4x4 vehicles, and electric SUVs, the tyre features a tread design with increased depth, rigid blocks, and a high-void pattern to manage mud, water, and loose material. In Nepal, the product is being distributed by Delta Distributors Pvt. Ltd. The design aims to handle diverse terrains such as gravel, sand, and rocky mountain routes while reducing stone retention. In the Philippines, the launch emphasizes the tyre’s ‘TractionPlus+ Technology’ and ‘BlackPaw Compound’, an advanced polymer system engineered for grip in cold, wet, or dry environments. The tyres include reinforced sidewall protection to absorb impacts and prevent punctures. Continental noted the product is ‘EV-ready’, specifically accounting for the higher weight and instant torque characteristic of electric off-road vehicles. The available rim sizes have expanded to include up to 22 inches. Further expanding the range, Continental has introduced the CrossContact A/T² as an all-season option for SUV, 4x4, and pick-up vehicle drivers. This iteration aims to balance asphalt performance with off-road durability on surfaces like gravel, sand, and mud. The design incorporates aggressive tread geometry, deep grooves, and reinforced edges to ensure stability and predictable handling on both wet and dry pavement. To mitigate mechanical stress from obstacles, the tyre features reinforced sidewalls, a strengthened shoulder area, and a specially developed rubber compound designed to maintain elasticity.
