The Polish Sejm has experienced several instances of controversial conduct by members of the Law and Justice (PiS) party during the resumption of parliamentary sessions. In early September 2026, the Sejm Ethics Committee issued reprimands to five lawmakers, including four from PiS, following an incident at the National Prosecutor’s Office in May. This disciplinary action followed allegations that the MPs entered a protected zone without authorization and ignored security orders during an interrogation. On September 4, 2026, PiS MP Dominika Chorosińska faced significant backlash for making barking sounds while Kosiniak-Kamysz was delivering a speech. Government officials, including Minister of Internal Affairs Marcin Kierwiński, condemned the behavior as a sign of political degradation. In response, PiS Vice President Tobiasz Bocheński issued a formal apology on September 5, stating, ‘I can apologize. It should not have happened.’ Chorosińska defended her conduct by characterizing the Minister of Defense as a ‘dog of Donald Tusk’ and claiming on social media that barking is the ‘only language’ understood by Donald Tusk and Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, specifically describing it as the ‘barking of dogs from Kłodzko.’ Following the incident, former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki commented that while he would not have used such methods of expression, he does not regret his previous decision to nominate her to a ministerial position. By September 9, the PiS parliamentary club spokesperson, Waldemar Andzel, announced that the lawmaker’s behavior would be investigated.
