Controversies involving Samay Raina
Overview
Comedian Samay Raina has been the subject of various professional and personal controversies. Actor Mukesh Khanna defended his decision to participate in a mobile phone advertisement with Raina, clarifying that the collaboration was a professional project and not an endorsement of Raina’s comedy show, ‘India’s Got Latent’. Khanna addressed social media backlash by stating, “Shaktimaan nahi bik sakta hai” (Shaktimaan cannot be sold), noting he only agreed to the campaign after ensuring the script met his requirements.
Separately, Raina addressed allegations regarding his professional conduct on ‘India’s Got Latent’. Reports surfaced suggesting a production halt occurred after jokes involving casting director Mukesh Chhabra and his girlfriend caused tension. Additionally, Raina and actress Medha Shankr dismissed viral rumors regarding a potential wedding in December, with Raina humorously noting that his upcoming tour would make such a timeline difficult.
