Restoration efforts at the Convento de Cristo in Tomar, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), have moved from the implementation phase toward completion. Initial reports indicated that several key areas, including the Santa Bárbara, D. João III, and Lavagem cloisters, were nearing reopening, while the Terreiro de Armas was scheduled for October. Following these interventions, the monument has begun reopening its restored cloisters to the public. As part of the European Heritage Days, the site has introduced new lighting to highlight architectural features such as the Charola and the Manueline Nave. Guided tours have been organized to showcase the space in its “renewed plenitude.” Recent developments include the scheduling of a guided nighttime visit to the Main Cloister on September 24. This initiative utilizes new lighting to showcase the architectural and artistic features of the Main Cloister, the Charola, and the Manueline Nave. The illumination also extends to the sculptural ensemble of the Chapter Room Window, a 16th-century Manueline work by Diogo de Arruda.
