One year after the massive wildfire known as ‘the Ogre of the Corbières’ destroyed over 17,000 hectares in the Aude department of France, recovery and prevention efforts are underway.

However, local livestock farmers have raised concerns regarding the economic viability of this approach, questioning if they are being used merely as ‘mowers’ and calling for financial compensation if grazing for land maintenance interferes with traditional production.
