The Croatian anti-corruption agency, USKOK, has launched investigations into the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) concerning a ten-year sponsorship deal with Adidas, reportedly valued at 80 million euros. Investigators are looking into potential commissions paid to intermediaries, though HNS officials have denied any wrongdoing, maintaining the agreement was direct. In a related matter, USKOK filed an indictment against Lazar Darojković of NK Dugo Selo for allegedly attempting to bribe a referee to influence a match outcome in May 2026. As the investigation into the HNS progresses, authorities have requested documentation regarding executive board meetings and supplier agreements. HNS representative Marijan Kustić stated that the federation is cooperating fully and reiterated that no illegal activities or commission payments occurred. Kustić has further addressed the investigation, asserting that neither he, nor any employee or agency, has received any commission from the deal. He emphasized that the contract is the largest in the history of Croatian sports and stated that all funds will remain within the federation, adding that he supports increased oversight of sports organizations.
