The Country Music Association (CMA) has initiated several announcement processes for its upcoming awards cycle. On August 31, the CMA detailed the schedule for revealing the nominees for the 60th Annual CMA Awards, noting that the announcement would begin with a live broadcast on ‘Good Morning America’ followed by a livestream from Nashville. On September 3, the CMA named the finalists for the 2026 CMA International Awards, which recognize contributions to the global reach of country music between May 2025 and April 2026. Finalists for the International Artist Achievement Award include Lainey Wilson, Tucker Wetmore, Jordan Davis, and Drake Milligan. The Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award finalists are Wade Forster, Gareth, James Johnston, and Tami Neilson. For the International Country Broadcaster Award, finalists include Shannon Ella (Canada), Bob Harris (United Kingdom), Baylen Leonard (United Kingdom), and Justin Thomson (Australia). Winners for these categories will be announced later this year. Following this, the nominees for the 60th Annual CMA Awards were revealed. Ella Langley received leads the nominations with nine nominations, nods, including her first Entertainer of the Year nod nomination and nominations nods for Single, Song, Single of the Year for ‘Be Her’ and ‘Choosin’ Texas’, as well as Album of the Year for ‘Dandelion’. Lainey Wilson, who will host the ceremony for the third consecutive year, is also nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Single of the Year for ‘Somewhere Over Laredo’. Other Entertainer of the Year nominees include Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, and Chris Stapleton.
