In Ciudad Juárez, municipal police have conducted arrests involving drug possession, vehicle theft, and intimidation. Officers intercepted a 24-year-old man in the Las Montañas neighborhood while he was operating a stolen motorcycle at high speeds; a search revealed 15.78 grams of crystal meth. In a separate incident in the Palmas del Sol subdivision, a 28-year-old man was arrested after allegedly threatening a victim with a replica firearm that uses blanks. On August 27, 2026, police seized approximately 10,000 blue pills with characteristics similar to fentanyl following a vehicle pursuit in the Prados de Salvárcar neighborhood. The operation began when officers observed a 2016 Nissan Versa driving at high speeds from a commercial plaza, which subsequently collided with a Ford Escape while attempting to evade authorities. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered 10 plastic bags containing roughly 1.135 kilograms of the synthetic opioid. Two suspects, María Estefanía V. O. (30) and Carlos Eduardo M. M. (31), were arrested and placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry. Authorities estimate the street value of the seized narcotics to be approximately 3.4 million pesos.
