CSKA Sofia implements tactical and staff changes under ~~Gis}_~~ Gis

Following the appointment of German specialist Markus Gisdol, CSKA Sofia is preparing for his tactical debut. The coaching change is viewed as a tactical restart intended to maximize squad potential through a more disciplined, mechanized approach. Gisdol is expected to implement a 4-3-3 formation that emphasizes wing play and a high press, with central striker Joel Kwarc serving as a focal point for vertical passes. Other potential tactical shifts include utilizing Leo Pereira as a left winger. Gisdol is also planning structural changes to his staff and squad. He intends to bring in a German goalkeeper coach in early 2027 to replace Ivaylo Ivanov, a move aligned with his preference for working with trusted colleagues from his home country. To manage player fatigue following a match against Monaco and ahead of a fixture against Nordsjælland, Gisdol is expected to rotate nearly the entire starting lineup for an upcoming Bulgarian Cup match against Nesebar. Reports suggest central defender Dinish Almeida may be the only regular starter retained for that match, with significant changes anticipated across the midfield and attacking lines. Recent observations suggest the team has adopted a more aggressive, high-pressing style, though club figures have noted that defensive errors and a loss of aggression after conceding remain critical issues.
