Cuba National Baseball Series restructuring
Overview
The 65th Cuban National Baseball Series has undergone significant structural changes due to an ongoing energy crisis, fuel shortages, and economic difficulties. To mitigate the impact of electricity blackouts and minimize long-distance travel between provinces, organizers have redesigned the tournament calendar and logistics.
The revised format reduces the regular season to 44 games per team, down from 75 in the previous season. The 16 participating teams will be organized into four regional groups divided into Western and Eastern zones. The National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder) and the National Baseball Commission are working to ensure the competition proceeds despite the constraints that have halted other sporting events.
