In Cuiabá, municipal authorities have implemented several measures to address education and public safety. Initially, the Municipal Department of Education finalized a payment of nearly R$ 15 million to companies providing rural school transportation services. Following this, the city announced broader investments in the education sector, with the department receiving R$ 1.045 billion. This funding, which represents 26.5% of the municipal budget, supports 172 school units and over 13,000 professionals. Approximately R$ 890 million is dedicated to staff salaries, while R$ 28 million is allocated for school upgrades. Infrastructure improvements include the installation of fiber optic internet, 2,000 security cameras, and the maintenance or purchase of over 2,900 air-conditioning units to combat high temperatures. To further support educators, the administration is hosting the 2nd Alfabetiza MT Seminar to share pedagogical strategies. Parallel to these educational efforts, authorities have expanded security operations. The 9th edition of ‘Operação Centro Seguro’ has launched across 142 municipalities in Mato Grosso, including Cuiabá. Running until October 1, the operation utilizes 367 police personnel, including 300 student-soldiers and 67 cadets cadets, to increase patrolling in commercial areas to prevent robberies and thefts. Furthermore, the Regional Electoral Court of Mato Grosso (TRE-MT) is preparing a security plan for the 2026 General Elections, involving Elections.
