Cultural and art exhibitions continue to expand across Brazil, with recent developments in October focusing on diverse themes ranging from urban history to Afro-diasporic traditions. In Fortaleza, artist Gi Monteiro is presenting ‘Umbra’ at Claraboia, an exhibition of paintings, drawings, ceramics, and installations that explores ‘liquid memory’ and the connection between rainfall and submerged urban watercourses. Meanwhile, the Museu Inimá de Paula has launched three concurrent exhibitions: ‘José Adário – Raiz de ferro’, which features nearly 30 iron works linked to Candomblé traditions; ‘Aldir Mendes – Geometrias do olhar’, focusing on color and geometry; and ‘Arte em grandes formatos’, showcasing works by Luiz Zerbini, Lauren Quin, and Tomie Ohtake. These displays are scheduled to run until January 24, 2027. In Ceará, the Manzuá Project in Icapuí has introduced ‘Manzuá – Entra mas não sai’, a photographic and audiovisual series documenting artisanal lobster fishing communities and their relationship with nature.
