Berlin is scheduled to host several cultural and culinary festivals during late August and September 2026. Berlin Beer Week will take place from August 28 to September 6, featuring more than 35 events across over 20 locations, including tap takeovers and food pairings involving more than 70 breweries. The 12th Pop-Kultur Festival is also taking place from August 24 to August 30. In collaboration with the Goethe-Institut, the festival features a ‘Sonic Crossings’ program focusing on the contemporary pop scene of Central Asia through residencies and concerts. Musical highlights include performances by artists such as The Notwist, Sophia Kennedy, and Ray Lozano. In September, the city will host the 15th Berlin Art Week from September 9 to 13, involving over 100 museums and galleries. The International Literature Festival, produced by the Weltlesebühne association, will run from September 11 to 25. Themed ‘Translating & Saving the World: Incitement to Utopia in Dystopian Times,’ the festival features 20 events across four venues and includes 44 participants such as Nobel laureate Han Kang. Discussions will address topics like the political potential of linguistic diversity and human the role of literary translation versus automated language production. in addressing global crises like climate change and authoritarianism. Other scheduled events include the Antikmeile Suarezstraße on September 5–6, the Festival der Berliner Industriekultur from September 12 to October 4, and the Berlin Street Food Festival on September 26. Additionally, the Prenzlauerberginale film festival will celebrate its tenth anniversary with screenings of historical films and documentaries related to the local neighborhood. Earlier in the year, the 22nd achtung berlin filmfestival was scheduled for April 15 to April 22, featuring world and German premieres across the Berlin Spotlights, Berlin Spezial, and Berlin Series sections.
