Cultural and industry exhibitions in Japan

During the latter half of 2026, Japan is hosting a diverse range of cultural, artistic, and industry exhibitions.

In August, the focus is on photography through various festivals and exhibitions. These include showcases of Japanese female photographers in Tokyo, an exhibition of East German photography in Kanagawa, and international photo festivals in Nagano and Hokkaido. Additionally, Leica Galleries are presenting new works captured in the United States.

Moving into late August and September, the events expand to include industry-specific shows. These include the Japan DIY Homecenter Show at Makuhari Messe, a stationery fair in Nihombashi focusing on stamp trends, and the World Tea Culture Exhibition in Tokyo, which features tea brands from various Asian nations. Other scheduled appearances include the TOKYO Toy Show 2026, which highlights sports trading cards, and a panda-themed exhibition in Takadanobaba.

In the energy and technology sectors, Smart Energy Week is set to convene 550 companies at Makuhari Messe to showcase hydrogen, solar, and fusion technologies. High-Performance Materials Week will focus on AI semiconductors, sustainable materials, and economic security, while IDTechEx will host a webinar regarding chemical recycling trends for plastics.

Professional and educational events also feature prominently. The EDIX Tour in Fukuoka will address educational ICT and AI in schools, and the IT Trend EXPO will offer online sessions on AI-driven cybersecurity and vulnerability management. In the business sector, JoinX is showcasing cross-border development services at the Tokyo DXPO 2026, while Maspro Electric and Universal Paper are participating in the Japan DIY Homecenter Show. Other industry participants include the SBS Group at the International Logistics Exhibition 2026 and Kansai Paint at the Nikkei/TSE IR Fair 2026.
