Cultural engagement in France is expanding through diverse literary and community-focused programming. Literary festivals, such as Cultissime in Angers and Les correspondances in Manosque, are increasingly adopting immersive and performative elements. These events move beyond traditional reading to include live performances, musical accompaniment, and theatrical readings to engage audiences with classical literature, comics, and youth works. Complementing these large-scale festivals, local libraries are facilitating community participation through specialized workshops and activities. Programs include public readings, writing workshops, documentary screenings, and intergenerational art sessions, ranging from portrait painting sessions. This momentum in library engagement is further evidenced by the ‘Biblis en Folie’ festival. The third edition of this initiative features more than 3,000 events held at libraries and media centers across the country. The festival aims to creative activities supporting social campaigns. modernize the image of these institutions and encourage reading habits, with a specific focus on re-engaging adolescents.
