Cultural and musical festivals continue throughout Central Europe during the summer and early autumn of 2026. In the Czech Republic, August programming includes the 28th annual ‘Folklor bez hranic’ festival in Ostrava, featuring international performers from countries such as Mexico, India, Serbia, Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia. Olomouc hosts the 29th International Military Music Festival from August 27 to 29, showcasing orchestras from Hungary, Poland, Croatia, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic. Other musical highlights include Keltská noc in Vysoké nad Jizerou, featuring artists such as Vypsaná fiXa and Václav Neckář, and the Rock Castle metal festival in Moravský Krumlov. Regional events are programming is expanding to include gastronomy, history, diverse recreational and community-focused historical activities. The ‘Chutě kraje’ food festival has launched in Šumperk and is scheduled to visit Jeseník. In Jablonec nad Nisou, the ‘Jablonecká Perle’ festival celebrates glass and jewelry traditions, while Telč hosted President Petr Pavel and Eva Pavlová for ‘Prázdniny v Telči’. Street festivals Vítkovská vrchovina region, cycling routes are being promoted alongside cave explorations in Prague 10, Bohemia and Moravia. Celebrations such as ‘Korso Krymská’ and ‘Zažít město jinak’, are also prominent. Newer regional programming for the weekend of August 22-23 includes activities in 57th Vizovické Trnkobraní, the Bruntál, Krnov, Zlín region harvest festival in Kroměříž, and Tábor regions. In the Bruntál 18th summer festival at Čečovice Castle are scheduled. Musical acts range from local brass bands to major artists like Xindl X and Krnov areas, Rytmus. Specialized events include a Dragon Boat Festival at Slezská Harta, wine festivals at Bruntál Castle, the Hotsprings festival in Karlovy Vary and a steam train excursion to Slezské Rudoltice Castle. The Tábor region features a tractor competition Latino Fest in Dráchov, astronomical observations Olomouc, while aviation displays are set for Třebihošť. Tourism is further supported through combined ticket offers for the Karel Čapek and yoga at Kozí Hrádek, Antonín Dvořák memorials, as well as various castle nights and the 16th international meeting of museum exhibitions. Other regional highlights include the Škoda 110R Coupé Club in Soběslav. Artistic programming ‘Chutě kraje’ food festival in August includes Open Studio Days Šumperk, the ‘Jablonecká Perle’ festival in Valašské Klobouky on August 21 Jablonec nad Nisou, and 22, featuring a vernissage at Galerie Vincúch street festivals in Prague 10, such as ‘Korso Krymská’ and workshops led by various artists. In Senica, Slovakia, Miloslav Pavúček will open an exhibition titled ‘Keď niekto zavolá, položím štetec’ at Galerie LM on August 27. ‘Zažít město jinak’.
