Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi has seen a series of seasonal and cultural enhancements. In late September, the lakeside area was decorated with seasonal flower displays, including pink and purple Japanese violets, hydrangeas, and marigolds, planted along the sloping banks to create a scenic landscape. Following this, the Hoan Kiem Ward People's Committee announced the ‘Silk Ribbon of Memory’ (Dải lụa ký ức) art installation. Scheduled to run from October 8 to December 2, 2026, the project features a temporary elevated walkway, lighting systems, and artistic mirror frames near Le Thai To Street. The installation is intended to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of Capital Liberation Day and Vietnam Culture Day by offering new perspectives of the lake and Turtle Tower. As the project nears its October 8 opening, organizers have noted that the installation is being implemented through socialized funding. The design includes a winding landscape walkway intended to weave through existing greenery to minimize impact on tree roots. Additional features include ‘Hoan Kiem viewing balconies’ to enhance the visual experience of the lake. Once the exhibition concludes on December 2, all components will be dismantled to restore the lakeside area to its original state.
