Cultural and tourism initiatives in Breña Alta
Overview
The municipality of Breña Alta is implementing various cultural and tourism initiatives. In early October, the local government, in partnership with CIT Insular La Palma, introduced free guided walking routes—the ‘San Pedro, corazón de Breña Alta’ urban route and the ‘Ruta de las Fuentes’ nature trail—to promote local heritage and sustainable tourism. This period also included the Breña Alta Magic Festival, which featured street performances and magic shows at the Cigar Museum.
Following these events, the municipality scheduled the ‘Breña Alta ¡Viva México!’ fair for October 17. Organized in collaboration with the cultural association Colmexcan and supported by the Government of the Canary Islands and the City Council of Cosoleacaque, Mexico, the fair aims to foster community coexistence through Mexican music and gastronomy. The program includes musical performances, a Catrinas contest, and a tribute to Vicente Fernández.
