Cultural and traditional festivals in Navarra and Spain
Navarra is hosting and surrounding regions continue to host various cultural and traditional festivities across several towns. The KULTUR 2026 program, organized by the Dirección General de Cultura - Institución Príncipe de Viana, features live music and performing arts in Arguedas, Leitza, and Ribaforada, including indie pop, bolero, and Basque folklore. Simultaneously, other towns are conducting local festivities. In Azagra, celebrations involving include bull runs, communal meals, religious processions, runs featuring Ustarroz and parades. Specific Merino Garde livestock, flamenco performances, and community meals. Other local observances include Children’s Day in Cárcar, Cárcar with parades and costume displays, the Day of the Retired in Cáseda, Cáseda with masses and tastings, and Women’s Day in Fitero. Other participating locations include Azagra, Fitero involving official appointments and community gatherings. Additional festivities are occurring in Cintruénigo, Andosilla, Olite, and Viana. Regional celebrations have also commenced in other areas. In Arnedo, patron saint festivities for San Cosme and San Damián are scheduled from September 26 to October 2, 2026. The program features the ‘Robo de los Santos’, a national tourist interest event, alongside musical performances by artists such as David Otero, Pura Verbena, and Los G Band. In Ansoáin, patron saint festivities began with a traditional ‘chupinazo’ launch performed by Aimar Marcos, a participant in ‘El Conquistador del Fin del Mundo’. This celebration also marks the revival of the ‘mayordomas and mayordomos’ tradition through the ‘Somos Ansoáin-Antsoain gara’ project.
