Cultural activities in the Macerata region include a variety of historical, athletic, and digital events. In early September, Montemiletto hosted the tenth edition of the historical reenactment ‘Si Qua Fata Sinant’, which featured over 200 performers recreating a 1419-era village. Concurrently, Macerata held its 40th anniversary of the Stramacerata running event. Later in September, Macerata hosted the fifth edition of the EVO festival, themed ‘The languages of play’. This festival explored gaming as a cultural and social tool through over 60 events across the historic center, including seminars, board game halls, and interactive culinary experiences. In September 2026, the city hosted the EVO 2026 festival, which integrated gaming culture with local traditions, music, and gastronomy. A spin-off titled ‘EVO Pop’ was launched to increase accessibility within the city center through a collaboration between the Department of Commerce, the Marche Chamber of Commerce, and local partners. Key venues included Piazza della Libertà, hosting DJ sets and the ‘The Magic is Back — Winx Club’ show, and Via Garibaldi, which housed the ‘EVO Village’ featuring artisanal stands and traditional performances by the flag-throwers of Montecassiano. On September 25 and 26, students from the ‘G. Garibaldi’ Agricultural Institute participated in the EVO Village, managing gastronomic stands and educational activities regarding agriculture and sustainability alongside organizations such as Copagri Marche and Coldiretti.
