Cultural activities in Greece continue through a diverse range of folklore, theatrical, and artistic events. In Patras, the Polyedro venue hosted arts and literature from September 21 to 26, in late September, and the Patras Amateur Theatre Festival concluded on September 30. New Upcoming programming in Patras includes the Polyphoniki Theater Workshop’s production ‘I Mikri mas Smyrni’ (Our Little Smyrna), which explores the memory of exploring refugee settlements and displacement, scheduled for October 3 at the Pamvrakian Association and October 7 at the Pantheon Theater. Additionally, the comedy play ‘Den Akouo, Den Blepo, Den Milao’ by Giorgos Theodoridis is set to be performed at the Pantheon Cinema on October 24 and 25. In Crete, the 6th Festival of the Region of Crete presented ‘Crete Myths’. The theatrical groups Scarmi and Theatro Antivaro are scheduled to present ‘RIZITIKO REload’ in Rethymno and Chania on October 22, 23, and 24, using Cretan Rizitika songs to explore identity and social issues. In Volos, the CineDoc Caravan documentary festival is set to begin screenings at the Achilleion Municipal Cinema on October 10, opening with the film ‘Den Kostei Tipota’ (It Costs Nothing) by Maryli Bouli. Literary presentations are also events scheduled for October 14: in Patras, Polyedro will host 14 include the presentation of Athina Papachrysostomou’s book, ‘Thucydides’ Pericles’ Funeral Oration — The Ageless Praise of the Athenian State, State’ at Polyedro in Patras, featuring remarks from University of Patras Rector Christos Bouras. In Volos, the Lyceum of Greek Women will present Aris Voliotis’ ‘Glimmers of Memory’ (Lichnismata tis Mnimes), a collection of short stories regarding Pelion and Volos. Festival activities include the CineDoc Caravan documentary festival in Volos, starting October 10, and the 6th Festival of the Region of Crete. In Naoussa, the 14th ‘Freedom’s Dawn’ Choral Festival commemorated the city's 114th anniversary of liberation with various mixed choirs. In Rhodes, the 8th International ‘European Polyphony’ Festival concluded with an aerial musical performance by Compagnie Transe Express titled ‘Maudits Sonnants,’ featuring the ‘Celestial Carillon’ construction. Other regional activities include the Messinia Theatre Workshop conducting registration for its 2026–2027 season, and Workshop, performances in Larissa involving the Australian Strings Association Association, and a biography presentation for musician Vasilis Skoulas. theatrical groups presenting ‘RIZITIKO REload’ in Rethymno and Chania on October 22, 23, and 24.
