Gimpo City has hosted a series of cultural events aimed at fostering community identity and international exchange. In September, the city held the 39th Jungbong Cultural Festival at the Gimpo Art Village. The event honored local righteous army leader Jo Heon through memorial services, literature awards, and traditional folk art performances. Following this, the city announced plans for the 19th Gimpo World Citizens Festival, scheduled for October 11. 11 at the Gimpo Art Village. Under the theme ‘Gimpo Open to the World, Connecting Us through Peace,’ the upcoming festival intends to promote understanding between local and foreign residents through international culinary programs, flag parades, and performances. Musical performances are set to feature a creative opera by the Maumsori Art Troupe, a trot performance by Kim Myung-ji, the Withers Children's Choir, a headline set by singer Insooni, and a park concert by the Suwon University Chamber. Beyond cultural exchange, the event will also include host a fundraising booth to support flood relief efforts victims of recent floods in Nepal. Nepal caused by war and climate crises.
