Hanoi has announced several major cultural events scheduled for September 2026. The Hanoi International Jazz Festival 2026, themed ‘Hanoi Jazz - Melodies Without Borders’, is set for September 17 to 19. Led by General Director and Music Director Duong Cam, the festival aims to create a permanent cultural brand by integrating jazz into urban spaces and landmarks. The festival will feature 16 domestic and international bands, with performances at locations such as the Hanoi Opera House Music Garden, the Octagonal Pavilion in Ly Thai To Park, the Thang Long Music and Dance Theatre, and the Vietnam Women’s Museum. Contributing to the festival, the Ho Chi Minh City Hat Boi Art Theater will perform an excerpt titled ‘Tran Binh Trong tuân tiết’, depicting the historical figure’s refusal to surrender to Yuan-Mongol invaders. The theater will also present ‘Le Dai boi’, a traditional ritual performance of Southern Hat Boi art inspired by Nguyen Dynasty altar ceremonies. India.
