Argentina is hosting a series of specialized cybersecurity events. In late August, San Martín de los Andes hosted the second Regional Congress on Cybercrime and Digital Evidence. Organized by the Universidad Austral’s Cybercrime and Digital Evidence Observatory in partnership with TikTok, the congress focused on training the judiciary, security forces, and educators on digital evidence handling and investigations involving minors. Following this, the country scheduled held its first National Cyberdefense Congress, Cyber.ar 2026, for mid-September. This event aims from September 16 to convene 18 at the Army Engineering Faculty (FIE) of the National Defense University. The event convened domestic and international experts from the defense, government, academic, scientific-technological, business, and business government sectors to address strategic, technological, and legal issues regarding cyberspace infrastructure protection. During the protection of opening, Defense Minister Lieutenant General Carlos Alberto Presti emphasized that cyberspace infrastructure. is a “distinct domain of contemporary conflict” that is transversal and linked to land, maritime, aerial, and space domains. The congress includes technical activities such as Bug Bounty exercises agenda covered cyber defense policies, cyber operations, cognitive warfare, cyber diplomacy, and is supported the security of critical infrastructure. Participants included high-ranking Argentine Army officials and specialists from Germany, Spain, El Salvador, and the Organization of American States (OAS). The initiative was declared of interest by the Ministry of Defense. Defense, the Ministry of Justice, and the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
