Czech and Slovak Slovan Bratislava sports activity
Slovan Bratislava advanced to the Champions League play-offs after a 2-0 victory over Mjällby AIF, resulting in a 4-1 aggregate win. The match, held at Tehelné pole, also guaranteed the club participation in the European League group stage. Following this success, Slovan Bratislava began preparations for its upcoming Champions League home matches, including the announcement of ticket sales and fan activities. This occurred amidst broader sporting activity in the region, including football and ice hockey competitions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Building on this momentum, General Manager Ivan Kmotrík Jr. characterized the club’s historic advancement into the Champions League main phase as the result of years of effort to improve the club’s coefficient and increase the prestige of Slovak football in Europe. The club is also seeing significant activity in its ice hockey department. Following a narrow loss in the previous season’s championship finals, General Manager Lukáš Havlíček addressed roster construction, highlighting the high-profile transfer of Samuel Buček from Nitra. Havlíček described Buček as a ‘top league attacker.’ The hockey team is scheduled to begin its season against Nitra on September 15.
