Czech newborn photo contest expands to ~~34-week infants~~ national finals

The weekly ~~newborn‑photo~~ newborn photo contest run by the Czech daily Deník launched in early May 2026. Parents submit a photograph of their infant together with a signed consent form; the image is published online and in the printed edition of the regional paper. Each gallery is paired with an online poll for the “most sympathetic baby”. The weekly regional winner moves to a monthly national final that crowns the “Baby of the Month”. During May the contest appeared in Vysočina, Plzeň, Liberec and other regions, and by early June it covered the 23rd and 25th weeks of gestation across South Bohemia, Central Bohemia, Moravian‑Silesian and several other kraje. July saw the addition of 30‑week infants in all ten Czech regions, followed by 31‑week infants such as Laura Mia Unucka. In August, the contest expanded to include 32‑week newborns across ten regions, including Central Bohemian, South Moravian, Vysočina, Karlovy Vary, and others. Entries for these galleries include the baby’s name, birth weight, length, and place of birth. By late August, the initiative continued with galleries featuring newborns from the 34th week of 2026, covering regions such as South Bohemian, Zlín, Karlovy Vary, Liberec, Hradec Králové, Pardubice, and Olomouc. ~~Throughout~~ By early September, the ~~period,~~ competition progressed to the ~~contest has maintained its consent‑based submission process, weekly public voting, and~~ national final stage for the ~~pathway~~ August 2026 cycle. Regional winners from areas including Central Bohemia, Olomouc, South Bohemia, Karlovy Vary, and Prague have advanced to ~~a national “Baby of~~ compete for the ~~Month”~~ national title. Finalists include Stella Zvěřinová from Central Bohemia and Amely Hradilová from Olomouc. Voting for the national winner is scheduled to conclude on September 30, 2026.
