Czech Republic electronic sales record reintroduction
Overview
The Czech Republic is preparing to reintroduce electronic sales records, referred to as EET 2.0, effective January 1, 2027. Following the publication of the law in the Collection of Laws on October 7, the mandate will focus on recording revenues generated through personal contact with customers or at business premises.
Unlike previous iterations, the requirement is determined by the payment method rather than the business type. It covers cash transactions and in-person contactless payments, such as card terminals or on-site QR code payments, while generally excluding remote e-shop transactions. Finance Minister Alena Schillerová described the system as a modern tool intended to “level the playing field for entrepreneurs and improve tax collection” without raising tax rates. The system will transmit data including entrepreneur identification, date, time, amount, and equipment details.
