Safety experts recommend switching to winter tires once temperatures consistently drop below 7°C to ensure superior performance. Drivers are encouraged to book service appointments in advance to avoid delays caused by early snowfall. New details regarding enforcement and technical specifications have been clarified. Failure to comply with winter tire regulations can result in an immediate fine of up to 1,500 CZK. If the violation proceeds to administrative proceedings, fines may range from 2,000 to 5,000 CZK, and the maximum fine may be doubled if the improper equipment contributes to a traffic accident. Specific technical requirements include the use of winter tires on all four wheels for passenger cars, which must maintain a minimum tread depth of 4 mm. For vehicles exceeding 3.5 tonnes, the required tread depth on driving axles is at least 6 mm.
