On September 4, a Dallas jury found Kewon White guilty of capital murder. White, accused of being the gunman hired to carry out the killing, has centered on surveillance footage used to establish a timeline. Prosecutors presented video from November 10 and 11, 2020, showing an individual wearing blue underwear visible above his pants. On the day before the murder, the individual was seen outside a residence carrying what appeared sentenced to be a firearm; on life in prison without the day possibility of the shooting, parole. Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty. The trial examined a fatal highway ambush where surveillance footage shows the man at the property and later near showed a backyard fire.
