The DANA Adam storm has caused widespread disruption and flooding across various regions of Spain. Initially, the storm led to the postponement of football matches in the Murcia region and Ibiza due to heavy rainfall and pitch flooding. As the situation progressed, the impact intensified in the Marina and Safor regions, particularly in Oliva. Flooding affected more than 25,000 residents, causing damage to hundreds of vehicles, numerous businesses, and local religious institutions, including the Convent of the Poor Clares. Local authorities responded by closing schools, establishing emergency shelters with Red Cross assistance, and managing significant damage to the water supply. Recent reports indicate extreme rainfall levels, with Forna recording 720.2 liters per square meter between October 17 and October 19. The destruction has extended to the municipalities of l’Atzúbia and Forna, resulting in flooded homes, destroyed roads, and landslides. In the province of Alicante, the agricultural sector has faced severe losses; the Association of Young Farmers (Asaja) reports that over 1,000 beehives have been destroyed or buried by landslides and flooding, with some beekeepers in Pego, Sanet i Negrals, and El Verger losing entire colonies.
