The 23rd season of ‘Dança dos Famosos’ premiered on August 16, 2026, on TV Globo. The roster of 16 participants includes Ticiane Pinheiro, Breno Ferreira, Junno Andrade, Otaviano Costa, Lucas Guedez, Diego Martins, Kenya Sade, Mell Muzzillo, MC Livinho, Bruna Griphao, Giovana Cordeiro, Léo Foguete, Pedro Scooby, Rita Guedes, and Bianca Andrade. Notable early developments included Bianca Andrade missing the premiere due to a bacterial infection, and Rita Guedes appearing in sunglasses following eye surgery. As the competition moved into a pagodão baiano theme, Otaviano Costa sat out a performance due to a calf strain. Following the group stage, the competition held a ‘repescagem’ (wildcard) round involving Group C, which consisted of the lowest-ranked participants. Breno Ferreira (59.6) and Giovana Cordeiro (59.5) successfully won the round to secure their places. Consequently, presenters Kenya Sade and Otaviano Costa were eliminated. The competition has transitioned into a six-week individual classification stage, where scores are accumulated before live weekly eliminations begin on November 1. During the funk-themed round on September 27, Diego Martins and partner Mayara Araújo led the second group of performers with 58.8 points. Other high-ranking participants included Mell Muzzillo and Dani Norton (58.4), and Léo Foguete and Thais Sousa (57.1). Ticiane Pinheiro, who drew attention for performing the ‘quadradinho de oito’, followed with 55.8 points. The judging panel included Ivete Sangalo, Milton Cunha, Carlinhos de Jesus, Ana Botafogo, and Zebrinha. Participant Pedro Scooby has faced significant personal scrutiny. Following his August 30 confirmation that he and model Cintia Dicker ended their relationship, a public dispute intensified between Scooby and actress Luana Piovani regarding childcare. On September 4, Dicker and Scooby both used social media to deny rumors of a child support lawsuit regarding their daughter, Aurora, stating they remain ‘best friends’.
